This course is open to the public; membership at Lakefront Arena Aquatic Center is not required. Lakefront Arena is located on the campus of LSU New Orleans. Included: - NAUI E-learning - Pool sessions - In-person academic review - Use of tanks, weights, regulator, BCD in the pool - Dive log - Digital certification card upon completion of check-out dives We highly recommend purchasing your mask/fins/snorkel from us, but you can use ours for pool sessions if needed. Not included: - Check-out dive: A minimum of 4 open water dives. Can be completed through SELA Aquatics, or with a referral letter to be completed on your own vacation. There is no extra charge to complete your checkout on a SELA SCUBA trip. After you register, we'll email you with a link to start your NAUI e-learning. You'll complete this part from home before you get to class. (Note: We will send you an activation email. Please do not create an account on your own on NAUI's website, as this creates a duplicate account.) At your class, we'll review academics and learn SCUBA skills in the pool. We'll provide your tank, weights, regulator, buoyancy compensator, and wetsuit for the pool. SCUBA masks/fins/snorkel are available to purchase from us, but you can use ours during class if needed. To complete your certification, you'll go on a checkout dive and complete a minimum of 4 open water dives. You can either attend one of our group trips or receive a referral form to take on your own trip. The NAUI Open Water certification does not expire, but we recommend a refresher session if you go 12 months or more between dives. Email us with any questions! Robyn@selaaquatics.com
